The Strong Center is a full service organization grounded in service to the community. We mentor our your people to be successful and productive citizens, imparting the values of hard work, self-discipline, and being of service to others. We offer volunteer opportunities as part of The Strong Center family and also encourage our athletes to discover their own methods of spreading kindness in our community.
Ronald McDonald House
Strong Center athletes delivered new stuffed animals to the Ronald McDonald House in Chapel Hill. Each year the House serves as a home away from home for 3000 families while their children receive medical care at area hospitals. We hope the stuffed animals provide some comfort to children during a very difficult time in their lives.
Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina
On a sunny Saturday afternoon, Strong Center athletes sorted and bagged fresh tomatoes at the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina. The Food Bank works with over 800 partner agencies in 34 counties to battle food insecurity faced by over 600,000 people in central and eastern North Carolina. These Strong Center athletes are experienced volunteers having sorted food drive donations, bagged pasta, crated eggs, and sorted fresh produce to try and end hunger in our state.
The Strong Center Loves the American Heart Association
Families from The Strong Center youth basketball program joined thousands from across the Triangle to raise money and awareness for the American Heart Association. Members of the 6th and 7th grade travel basketball teams and their families walked in the Triangle Heart Walk to raise funds to save lives from this country's No. 1 and No. 5 killers - heart disease and stroke. It was a beautiful day and fun was had by all. We are so proud of our players for giving back to their community
